Every workday on my afternoon break i feed multiple families of ducks. I’ve come to rely on the comforting and quieting feeling of feeding them and watching them. Today on my noon walk, I saw my little friends and apparently they saw me… although I had no food with me on this break, they were determined to get feed. Jack and Jill [my name for 2 of the ducks] started following me on my walk. I gave in and went back into my office and got them a cup full of corn. I then went to check in on an injured duck which I have been feeding and helping get better, her name is Jo, she too was determined to get some food. Once again, I went back into my office and got another cup of corn for her.
I’ve been feeding these ducks for about four months and it is so rewarding to see them begin to recognize me. I’m hopeful Jo will make a full recovery and am grateful for the opportunity to help.
Nature has always brought a relaxation upon my soul, my friends – the ducks, do this each day.
