185/365: Fourth of July Flag Cake
Gwenn and I made a Fourth of July Flag Cake this morning to take to our celebration this afternoon. It was really simple to make… here is how:
1 Large Pound Cake
1 Bucket of Strawberries
1 Bucket of Blackberries
1 pint whipping cream
2 tablespoons sugar
1/2 teaspoon vanilla
Homemade Whip Cream:
Combine whipping cream, sugar and vanilla in a chilled bowl. Stir with mixer on medium until peaks form. Put in Refrigerator.
Cut pound cake in half horizontal. Use whip cream on first layer and then cover with thinly sliced strawberries. Place second layer on top and cover with whip cream. Place quarter cut strawberries in lines to look like stripes and use blackberries in upper left corner to look like stars.
Place in refrigerator until read to eat.
