151/365: Tree Rings of Life

This leftover tree scrap was left behind after we got our tree trimmed in the fall.  I have been unable to dis-guard of the scrap because I’ve been wanting to photography how clearly defined the tree rings of life for this branch shine through.

From my guess, I see about 20 rings – meaning just this branch was 20 years old.  Interesting to see how some rings are thicker than others, I would assume those years we got more rain.  Considering the tree it came from is said to be over 100 years old, this branch is just a tiny representation of the real tree.
