long exposure at grapevine lake - murrell park

48/365: emerge.

v | move out of or away from something and come into view.

when i adventured out to the lake this afternoon, i was expecting calm conditions.. upon arrival i realized the feeling was the exact opposite.
the wind  – bAttERED my face and created whitecaps on the lake.
the sound – was equivalent to ocean waves cRASHINg against the sOFT sands of a beach.
the smell – was, well the smell wasN’T memorable.
the feeling – was cOld, abrASive and crUel….

as if the lake didn’t want its’ photo captured on this day, but i persisted anyway – searching for beauty and art which most would miss as they stumble by in a daze of self. in time, this composition emerged into my minds eye, the wind blowing directly toward the camera painted brilliant lines in the sky – as the sun struggled to break through the cloud cover and was finally successful on my last capture – creating an emergence and glimmer of light on the rocks.
